Laser Blasts New Record

A new pioneering technology utilizing lasers has broken its previous record on data transmission. It can transmit up to 10 Terabits a second(Tb/s).

As quoted from the BBC News Technology Page. That means At those speeds, the entire Library of Congress collections could be sent down an optical fibre in 10 seconds.

There was only one downside to this revelation, It used 327 lasers instead of just one, while this is a useful development, all those lasers would fill up data racks and consume huge amounts of power.
